Submission Guidelines

Our email ID is smu@stopmanufacturingus.com

Please look at the format of the existing articles in our journal and edit the text of your article the exact way in which you want it to appear on the journal.

We recommend that you save your article as some Microsoft Office Word document and attach it to your email and send it to us. Importantly, your submission will be declared complete only when all of the following information is submitted along with your article:-

  • Full name, age, sex and location (i.e. city/town, country) [Provide this information in the body of the email]
  • Author's note - A brief introductory note about yourself in general and your article. Basically we want to get a context on who you are and what you think about your article.
  • We will not reveal your name, age or location in the article if you specifically ask us not to. But we do need this information whether we reveal it in the publication or not. And we will never discriminate you on any basis!
Also:-
  • We also accept articles written in the body of the email but note that your text formatting such as italicization and bolding of text will not be preserved when you send it this way.
  • The word limit for an article is 4000 words. This is to ensure that the readers don’t get turned off from reading the entire article in one sitting.
  • In case you don't want us to publish your email ID in the article, state that in your email.
  • After the publication of your article make sure that you subscribe to the comments of your article so that you're updated on the questions and comments of the readers regarding your article.
In case you’re willing to contribute to our endeavour but are clueless as to what you could do, the following are a few suggestions that nudge you towards creating a contribution

    Policies & Suggestions

We aim to be dispassionate and egalitarian in our approach. And as do all quality media exhibitions, there are conditions that your contributions to our journal must qualify. Here they are:-

    1. Since we aspire to be a journal of admirable quality, we require articles that are of admirable quality. The following are general guidelines you should keep in mind while writing:-
    • Your articles should be as free from typos and grammatical errors as possible. Articles written 'sumting lyk dis' will be considered spam and be summarily rejected. However when such language is used to quote someone who really does write/speak like that, it will be permitted (since we all know how our teachers/professors speak!).
    • They shouldn't be filled with mindless criticism with excessive expletives (i.e. swearing and verbal abuse). We understand your frustration but we don't want destructive or purposeless criticism. However, since we're not too rigid in our policies and we consider our readers mature enough, those occasional, strategically placed expletives used to consolidate a point are permissible.
    • Make sure you follow the general rules of composition such as having a central thesis for your article that unites your words together to form structured meaning. This is just to drive your article towards better quality.
    • Try to use concise and simple language. We want as much readability by the general lay audience as possible. We don’t want to exhibit your prowess to convolute language.
    • Always cite your sources!
    • Please keep in mind that all the content posted here, be it posts or comments, will be moderated. Also note that we reserve the right to edit the articles as we see fit before we publish them. However, we will notify the author of the changes we've made.
    • In the end, these guidelines are just that - guidelines. What matters the most is if your intention behind writing is worthwhile. We'll always encourage well intentioned contributions.
    2. Coming to the nature of the content of your articles, we don't want to levy any strict restrictions because we like receiving varied content as it adds variety. However we’d like to give you an idea of what you could contribute. Here are some suggestions:-
    • The most obvious contribution is an essay in which you argue a point. If possible try to make your thesis specific and not just a very general one. We like specifics. We highly encourage you to write something that generates a clearer understanding of the problems that the IES faces instead of something that is merely a frustrated attempt at pointing the existence of problems in the system, which much of us are already aware of.
    • You could create an exposé of your educational institution. For instance, if you find that the public claims and promises of your institution are highly inconsistent with your actual experience inside it, then please do the world a favour and expose this inconsistency. You can document your exposé and send it to us. We'd only be glad to publish it.
    • You could interview your teacher/professor/management of your institution regarding some issues that you face as a student and contribute it with the references. But no fake interviews! We have critical insight enough to filter out fake content and you don’t want to be labeled as ‘fake’ by us!
    • You could narrate an anecdote that happened to you or your friend that is relevant to the theme of our journal and provide an accompanying analysis.
    • In case we appear too formal to you, don’t be intimidated! We’re a friendly bunch! And keep in mind that we don't require your contributions to be formal in style. We will be just as happy to take an entertaining and funny essay on the improper usage English by our professors as we would a formal treatise on student disciplining in our institutions.
    • Though not necessary, we encourage you to provide relevant picture(s) accompanying your articles. We will publish them along with your article if we find them relevant enough.
    3. We don’t want to be too rigid with our policies; so, that’s all folks!
